Abseil Solutions

Abseiling or Industrial Rope Access (Governed by IRATA, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) provides a safe efficient means of access to undertake a wide variety of tasks, such as building inspection, maintenance and cleaning.
We are able to offer a wide range of products and solutions, from a small number of anchors to a complete bespoke turnkey access strategy for new builds, to enable roped access operatives to gain access to either specific areas or the complete building envelope.

Below are just a few of the products and solutions available.

Abseil Rails

Bespoke and proprietary abseil rails can be designed into a project at an early stage, giving the benefit of façade access without the unsightliness sometimes encountered with BMU’s (building maintenance units), and at a fraction of the cost.

Some of the proprietary rails we offer can be retrospectively fitted to existing buildings and structures, where provisions for such activities were never originally allowed for.

Abseil Anchor Points

Anchor points can also be used for the purpose of roped access, it is important to note however, that the operative should never attach to just one anchor and that two points of attachment should always be maintained. The anchor’s can be designed into a new build project and retro fitted to most structures. Providing the building design and structure will allow for the fitment of abseil anchors, it can be an extremely cost effective way of achieving external building access.

Davit Arms

Davits offer another solution and can either be fixed or portable. In some applications the davits offer an advantage over anchors points in that they provide a certain amount of reach and can minimise the need for ropes to be trailed over delicate or lightweight parapet capping’s.

Springboards

Other solutions for minimising contact with lightweight parapet capping’s are available, such as bespoke “springboards”, these are used in conjunction with anchor points and allow the operative to gain access over lightweight capping by providing a cantilevered platform over the parapet.

The above are just a few of the abseil solutions available, some building design and access problems may require a number of these solutions to be adopted in tandem.
