The quarterly provide one indication of the possible out turn for deaths to workers and members of the public in the workplace in 2007/08.
The number of worker fatalities for 2007/08, based on the first nine months, is projected to be in the range 215 and 225, and is expected to be of a similar order to 2004/05 and 2005/06.
The range compares with 241 in 2006/07, 217 in 2005/06 and 223 in 2004/05. All of these annual figures are within natural year-on-year variation.
NON-FATAL INJURIES APRIL-DECEMBER 2007
The quarterly non-fatal injury series provides an early indication of the latest trends in accidents to employees reported under RIDDOR. This release covers the period Apr-Dec 2007 and a look back over the past 3 years.
